Affiliate marketing is always changing, and retailer agreements need to keep up with those changes. Because of that, the PMA Compliance Council recently updated a terrific resource known as the “Guide to Retailer Affiliate Agreements.”
The purpose of the guide is “to provide best practices to advertisers, specifically retailers, on establishing affiliate marketing agreements for the changing online environment.” The Guide is targeted to both retailers who manage their own programs and agencies who manage programs for them.
Shopify merchants will be able to offer Amazon’s ‘Buy with Prime’ option | TechCrunch
Amazon and Shopify this morning announced a significant integration that will now allow Shopify merchants to offer “Buy with Prime” on their Shopify stores. The Buy with Prime feature allows online consumers the option to purchase their items using the store payment method in their Amazon wallet when processing payments through Shopify’s checkout.
Amazon is launching a Buy With Prime (BWP) app in the Shopify App store.
Why this is amazing for Shopify and retailers:
• BWP orders will be using SHOPIFY CHECKOUT & payments will be processed by Shopify Payments (not Amazon). • This means that sellers get to OWN the customer data & the customer (Not Amazon!). • This means that SHOP gets to keep merchant processing revenue and 1st party data in its ecosystem.

iOS 17 automatically removes ads tracking parameters from links, making it more difficult than ever to track the user journey across a multi-touch ecommerce experience.
For marketers and advertisers, that means the days of relying on Google Click Identifiers (GCLID) in hyperlinks from ad clicks are coming to a close.
How does this impact affiliate marketing? Some developers leverage the GCLID within the URL format to set first party cookies. This cookie is then leveraged to deduplicate affiliate sales against the ppc channel. It is worthwhile checking your deduplication logic to ensure you are still rewarding sales as you expect.
